he prestigious Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and the world renowned Simon Group presented the first annual World AIDS Day exhibition. World AIDS Day is observed in December each year and is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS epidemic and to honor those who have died from HIV/AIDS.

The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is responsible for turning out some of the best leaders in the Arts and Fashion industry. And the Simon Group is the largest U.S. real estate company that owns or has an interest in over 300 properties including some of the world’s best malls and outlet centers.

The gala, “Through the Eyes of Love” was held at the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and featured red dresses designed by students and alumni of Fashion Design. The concept of the red dress, derived from the red ribbon, which is the global symbol for the support of AIDS research and those infected, was the theme for the evening. Striking and thought-provoking art created by children and students from all over South Florida provided the backdrop for the beautifully designed dresses.
