fter living in Europe for just a few months, Melody Biringer thinks the world is better by bicycle. Fresh back on the West Coast from an Amsterdam adventure to produce her latest book, CRAVE Amsterdam, she relishes the memories of pedaling around town in party dresses and hip street clothes… and the purple Jacqueline Conoir dress that we hung over her collection of scarves to get a good look.

Her passionate search for the best of what we girls (and guys) crave in life (think: spa, ready to wear, shoes, bags…) helped her launch and build the CRAVEcompany, a network of companies designed to innovatively connect entrepreneurs who approach business in a fresh, new way with the stylish consumers they desire in cities like New York, Austin and San Francisco (13 cities in all). The Company spawned CRAVEparty, CRAVEguide and a whole new way for style junkies to scour the world for their newest obsessions.

Of course, Melody found many things irresistible along the way, spawning a closet packed with goodies from stores featured in her CRAVEguides. In Amsterdam, she remembers how she biked to her favorite store there, Moscow. Woolen legwarmers cozy up her bedroom drawer, and with glee, Melody pulls them out to recall memories of her European life. “I love these,” she sighs.

For the day, she pulls them over some killer skinny jeans from Horseshoe in Seattle. “I’m telling you. I wear these everyday.” Then, she swaps out the legwarmers to let us drool over her Ilse Jacobsen rain boots - another acquisition from Seattle in a store called Lambs Ear. But in a quick minute, her lust switches to beautiful gray leather gloves, so elegant and playful, she strikes a pose… bedside. Those gloves are from Ines Gloves in Amsterdam. That purple dress? From JC Studio in Vancouver, B.C.

Not far away, she remembers lusting after some rock-star leggings, which show just enough leg and have just enough “give” to feel like “buttah” on her skin. (At the time, Melody was preparing to speak to a group of fashion bloggers. We suggested she wear these.)
