Red Carpet: Academy Awards Party Fashions!

By now we have all seen the stunning, gorgeous and what were they thinking looks that graced the Oscar red carpet. What about the infamous after parties? While there are many, the most notable are the Governor’s Ball, the Vanity Fair party and Elton John’s Annual AIDS Foundation viewing and after party. Often celebs who attended the ceremony change into new dresses and gowns while those not in attendance show up to the parties in more relaxed, but no less fashionable attire.

Each year the Governor’s Ball is attended by winners, nominees, presenters and Hollywood’s elite. With a short walk up the stairs from the theatre, the 1500 or so guests entered the elegant ballroom to a color changing, six-tiered chandelier hovering over an 18 foot golden Oscar statue and an exquisite looking feast of slow-braised lamb shank, pot pies, sushi, smoked salmon and mini Kobe burgers catered by renowned chef Wolfgang Puck.

The Vanity Fair party, hosted by the magazine’s editor Graydon Carter, was located at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. Three rooms were designated for the attendees, filled with music and open bars. Not to mention the In & Out truck and trays of cupcakes celebrities like Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Seth Rogan, Amy Poehler, Joseph-Gordon Levitt and many more noshed on throughout the evening.

Elton John’s annual AIDS Foundation viewing and after party at the Pacific Design Center, was attended by over a thousand pop stars, young Hollywood and reality TV personalities; The Kardashian sisters, Brittany Spears, Jamie King and Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerholder to name a few. Dinner of red wine-braised beef short ribs, roasted red snapper and sticky toffee pudding was catered by Chef Gordon Ramsey. An auction entertained and helped raise money and a performance by Scottish singer Emeli Sande wowed the crowed. Elton John started this party back in 1992 and since than has raised more than $300 million.
