This year’s honorees at the inspiration galas included Valentino, Jennifer Lopez, Alan Cumming, Fergie and Brazilian footballer Pelé. Attendees range from actors, actresses and athletes to designers and models. The night is filled with an elegant dinner, awards presentation, entertainment and a live auction. Gossip, Carly Rae Jepsen, Preta Gil, The Dolls, Dita Von Teese, Gilberto Gil and Seu Jorge all performed to the fashion forward crowds.

Founded in 1985, amFAR was started to help stop the global AIDS epidemic by raising funds for innovative research. During the year, the organization holds countless events, specifically the inspiration series, which began in 2010. The gala, with a new design inspiration each year, is held throughout the world in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, São Paulo, Miami, Toronto and Rio de Janeiro. Since its inception the inspiration galas have raised over nine million dollars.
