Britain Style: The British Oscars Stun

The BAFTA’s, otherwise known as the British Oscars, took place on February 16th 2015 at London’s Royal Opera House. The ceremony was hosted for the ninth time by Britain’s own, comedian and actor extraordinaire, Stephen Fry, sporting a three piece suit and bow-tie.

While this red carpet was a more subdued affair, the ladies still exuded confidence looking sexy and strong in their gowns. With a minimal amount of frills and the relaxed attitude towards hair and make-up, this red carpet was a mature, elegant and chic event. The color black seemed to reign but hues of reds and blues were also prominent.

One of the night’s stand-out looks was the fabulous Angelina Jolie in an un-done Saint Laurent tux, matching her date, Brad Pitt in Valentino. Together they ruled the red carpet. Other crowd pleasers was Lupita Nyong’O in an emerald green Dior gown, Samantha Barks in a white form-fitting Calvin Klein column dress, Gillian Anderson in blue vintage Balmain strapless gown and Dame Helen Mirren in a navy ruffled Jacques Azagury gown. Also standing out in the sea of stars was singer Lilly Allen in an orange and pink Vivienne Westwood and actress Ruth Wilson wearing an allover glittery and metallic Antonio Berardi mens-wear inspired outfit.
