Academy Awards: Oscars Again!

Well, the Oscars have come and gone with the stars of the big screen showing off their fashion prowess in designer gowns, dresses, suits and tuxes. When it came to the women; whites, reds, pinks and metallics ruled the evening with some green, navy and nude shades thrown in. A huge trend of the night was the embellished white dress as seen on newly minted Oscar winner Julianne Moore, along with Lady Gaga and Lupita Nyong’O. All had custom-made gowns designed by renowned fashion houses Chanel, Azzedine Alaïa and Calvin Klein. Besides seeing sparkles everywhere, big, bold, statement jewelry took center stage, becoming yet another trend of the evening.

As with most shows this awards season, midnight blue was the color for our favorite leading men. Not only were Eddie Redmayne and Common winners during the show but they won the red carpet as well. Both in blue, Eddie opted for an Alexander McQueen tux while Common donned a navy velvet Prada jacket. White seemed to be a go to color for the menfolk as well, with Benedict Cummberbatch, Adrian Brody and Kevin Hart sporting the shade. And we cannot forget to mention David Oyelowo, who stood out in the crowd wearing a red Dolce and Gabbana tux. With these modern yet classy looks maybe it can be just as fun for men to get all dressed up!
