How long have you been collecting these items?

For about ten years.

Give us a little background on your collection

Everytime one of my friends travel around, and they see a unique mate, they think of me and purchase it for me. Although I have purchased quite a few of my collection myself, the funniest ones come from friends.

How did you develop an interest in this particular collection?

Because they are native to Argentina, we drink from them all the time. There are so many different types from so many different eras, that I thought that it would be an interesting and unique collection to show and share, especially with people that are not from Argentina.

What are your favorite specialty items in your collection?

I love the Cow Foot. My husband's friend received the 'Cow Foot' mate as a souvenier and he was perplexed as to what it was. He did not know that it was something special and was going to donate it to charity. It is an exceptional piece and it is my favorite!

What other collections or hobbies do you have?

Argentinian flags, and singing, singing, singing.

How are the mates generally made?

The best mates are generally hand-made and the craftsmanship is special and unique to each particular mate. We take pride in being creative and it shows, especially through the designs and the elements that we use to make and finish the mates. I just love them!
