How long have you been collecting these items?

I have been collecting antique replica cars for about 5 or 6 years now.

Give us a little background on your collection

I only collect pre-1970's cars. And basically early sixties. That's when car designers were free to design cars without restrictions in regard to gas mileage, emissions, horsepower, etc. I believe the designs they came up with in that era were flamboyant. The materials that they used such as chrome and steel are not used in today's designs.

How did you develop an interest in this particular collection?

My interest came from the fact that the cars of today all seemed to be very similar in their design. The cars that were built in the sixties were different in design and classy in their appearance. And stylish in their look.

What approach did you take in starting this particular collection?

I have always went to car shows and I happened to see a Thunderbird model and since I own a real 1962 Thunderbird, I decided to get the replica and thus began my collection. I then would purchase replicas at other car shows and sometimes I would find them at hobby shops.

What are your favorite specialty items in your collection?

My favorite car is the 1956 Thunderbird and the 1957 Chevrolet Corvette is a close second. I also have a fondness for the 1964 Shelby Cobra 427 SC.

What other collections or hobbies do you have?

I also collect books about the history of cars, antiques, colognes and high-end watches mainly by Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Movado, and Cartier.
