After just missing the cut for Project Runway-twice-jme (pronounced "Jamie") earned the distinction as one of the top five emerging designers for 2008 in a PR-like contest called "Seamless in Seattle". 31-year old jme is from New York, but has been working and living in Seattle for the last eight years. She designs clothes but is also an artist, specializing in welding.

She began sewing at the age of five, watching her mother make outfits for ice skaters and roller skaters. By the time she was eight, she was making outfits and accessories, taking orders and selling them to classmates. "Mostly scrunchies and bracelets", jme chuckled, "for about two or three dollars each".

In 2001, she started designing seriously, focusing on "Salvationware by jme". She calls it "A line of apparel designed to change the world - one thread at a time". It's for men, women, kids and pets. And, because she's a welder, there's a metallic influence, whether it's the screen for a tee or in the accessories.

As one of the five finalists in Seamless in Seattle, jme feels validation that she's been on the right path, staying true to her passion and talent.
