CELEBRITY CLOSETS

The Young Brittany Snow

M
yCloset.com:
You sat front row at Erin Fetherston. What do you like about her clothes?
BS: CLASSY YET VERY PRETTY, GIRLY. EVERYTHING IS VERY CLEAN WITH A WHIMSICAL VIBE. YET YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE A WOMAN WHEN YOU WEAR IT.
Some people have a day and night personality. When you look at your own closet, what are some of your favorite things that are casual and are dress up?
BS: A GOOD BLACK DRESS AND ANY OTHER KIND OF DRESS THAT IS PLAIN BUT REALLY FITS YOUR BODY. IF YOU PUT ON A PAIR OF FLATS, YOU CAN WORK IT DURING THE DAY. IF YOU PUT ON HEELS AND SOME GREAT JEWELRY, YOU ARE READY TO GO AT NIGHT. WHEN I GO TO MEETINGS. I THROW A PAIR OF HEELS IN MY CAR. THEN I AM READY TO GO FOR THE NIGHT.
Favorite shoe designers?
BS: STUART WEITZMAN JIMMY CHOO. CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN. YSL. I CAN’T AFFORD MOST OF IT… COME ON, LET’S BE HONEST!
How about favorite dress down pieces in your wardrobe?
BS: PAPER DENIM. SEVEN JEANS. THEY FIT ME REALLY WELL. CASUAL STUFF, I LIKE BCBG, CALVIN KLEIN.
Are you more of dress up girl?
BS: I AM. IF I’M DRESSING DOWN, IT’S LIKE SHORTS AND AN OLD TEE SHIRT, WHICH IS SOMETIMES MY BOYFRIEND’S.
Any style icons, those you admired growing up?
BS: I’VE ALWAYS REALLY ADMIRED NATHALIE PORTMAN’S STYLE. EVA MENDES. I LIKE THAT SHE PLAYS WITH COLORS AND BEING FLIRTY. BOTH OF THEM ARE REALLY CLASSY AND YOU CAN TELL THAT THEY ARE MOVIE STARS.
What would you not wear?
BS: BRIGHT ORANGE. NOT WORKING ON ME, NOT ME! SOME PEOPLE CAN TOTALLY ROCK IT. IF YOU’RE TAN, IT KIND OF WORKS. WE’LL SEE TOMORROW BECAUSE I’M WEARING LELA ROSE TO HER FASHION SHOW. IT’S NOT TOTALLY ORANGE, BUT IT’S DEFINITELY ORANGE. IT’S SUCH A CUTE BABY DOLL DRESS THAT I AM WILLING. A REALLY CUTE COLLAR, WITH THREE LITTLE BUTTONS. IT LOOKS LIKE A SHIRT TUCKED INTO A SKIRT. IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE GIRL DRESS.
Changing from a girl to woman’s style can be challenging. Anything you can’t discard from youth?
BS: DEFINITELY. I’VE HAD THIS PAIR OF TOMMY HILFIGER JEANS SINCE I WAS PROBABLY TWELVE YEARS OLD. THEY ARE CALLED THE STAR JEANS. I DON’T KNOW HOW, BUT NO MATTER HOW MUCH I’VE GROWN AND CHANGED, THEY HAVE ALWAYS FIT ME. I’VE DEFINITELY GONE UP AND DOWN IN WEIGHT. THEY HAVE HOLES IN THEM NOW. I’VE THOUGHT ABOUT THROWING THEM AWAY BUT NOW THEY HAVE SUCH SENTIMENTAL VALUE. I’VE GONE SO MANY PLACES IN THEM. I CAN’T. SO, THEY JUST HANG IN THERE.
Will you save clothes for you kids one day?
BS: YES! I LOVE GOING THROUGH MY MOM’S CLOSET AND SHE GETS REALLY MAD BECAUSE SOMETIMES I’LL BE HAVING LUNCH WITH HER SHE’LL RECOGNIZE THAT I’LL HAVE HER PURSE AND ALL HER JEWELRY ON. I SAY, “I’M GOING TO GIVE IT BACK.”
What have you learned from you mom about keeping a great closet?
BS: MY MOM SAVES EVERYTHING. SHE’S A PACK RAT. SHE HAS STUFF FROM THE SEVENTIES AND EIGHTIES, LIKE BIG FUNKY JEWELRY, LOTS OF COLORS. VINTAGE LOOKING BAGS FROM THE SEVENTIES.
