The Tony Awards: Broadway Razzle Dazzles!
On June 8th 2014, Broadway’s stars and fans gathered at the iconic Radio City Music Hall for the annual Tony Awards. This year, the host was none other than wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, looking dapper in a classic black suit and bowtie. Classic does seem to be a word to describe some of the looks we saw, especially on the men. Dule Hill, Orlando Bloom, Wayne Brady and Matt Bomer sported navy blue suits while Zachery Quinto, Jonathan Groff and Tony Goldwyn showed off in black tuxes. The ladies were no slouches either, bringing an enchanting elegance to the red carpet. With designers like Reem Acra, Dolce and Gabbana, Zac Posen and Narciso Rodriguez on display the women of Broadway shone bright. Quite literally in some cases with bright orange one of the biggest colors of the evening; as seen on Fran Drescher, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Lauren Worsham. Varying shades of red also made a splash on Idina Menzel, Patricia Clarkson, Linda Edmond and Audra McDonald.
We simply cannot forget about those who stood out from the crowd. Stage actors and actresses are known for their eccentricities and some displayed those traits on the red carpet. RuPaul wore a hot pink suit jacket and black trousers, last year’s winner Billy Porter wrapped a silk scarf around his neck reminiscent of a bow-tie, three-time tony winner Mark Rylance donned a bowler hat and last but not least, nominee Adrienne Lenox was clad in a neon orange coat dress with white short shorts underneath and quite the unique hat.
CLOSET INSPIRATIONSfeaturingBling BlingPopular , MetallicsSilver Really ShinesMetallic fashions have evolved over the years. Once conservatively reserved for accessories silver has taken main stage. |
Silver metallic fashions are taking over. Gone are the subdued matte hues, they have been replaced with the shiny, in-your-face bold actual metal metallics. Just take a look at these futuristic looking designs. Of course some of these fashions are for purely editorial purposes, but there are some practical pieces in the mix. For instance check out the super shiny silver clutch and tailored jacket. Or if you are just wanting to dip your toes or fingertips into the silver pond, try a bold silver shoe or shiny nail polish. No matter how much or how little you choose to wear, silver makes a statement that you are a true fashionista!

We have noticed a wonderful new trend in jewelry. Interesting knuckle rings are making a huge statement. Here a few silver rings that we thought you might find interesting. The new thing now is knuckle jewelry. Whether it is large hinge ring that fits the length of your whole finger or the dainty thin bands that fit just above the knuckle or a combination of multiple rings at once, this look is amazing!
