Evey
"Evey's clothing and accessories are full of personality; vibrant, edgy, cute, and sexy--think Suicide Girls meets Rainbow Brite... in a Japanese Wonderland. Evey designs for girls who are all "grown up;" girls creative and rebellious at heart."
LA based Evey Rothstein is the soft-spoken designer behind ‘Evey’ clothing. As a young girl she often assembled her own outfits using materials like pillowcases and duct tape in order to make skirts and MyCloset.com is positive that the highly creative Evey could make these looks fashionable today. In high school she started a small side business designing and creating purses for her friends with materials they brought from home. While attending UCLA to study Anthropology, she worked at numerous clothing factories throughout Los Angeles County. After graduating in 2004, Evey held her first fashion show at a dive bar in Marina Del Rey, filled with her signatures; tulle skirts, babydoll tops, leg warmers, and one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry. The next year she was asked to design accessories used for the gift bags given out at designer Stuart Weitzman’s 2005 Oscar party. Publisher TOKYOPOP then solicited Evey’s assistance in improving the outfits for characters in comic books like ‘Warcraft’, ‘Princess Ai’, ‘Bizenghast’, and ‘My Dead Girlfriend’. Her eccentric, vibrant yet sexy and innocent designs combining the underground punk scene with Japanese street fashion have led Evey to become a wardrobe stylist for various artists and bands. Having styled such music videos, album photographic shoots, and shows for Unwritten Law’s lead singer Scott Russo, Random Ninjas, The Bedroom Scene and Mohair has garnered Evey even more fans. She was also hired by Fox’s action sports channel, Fuel TV, to design costumes and style commercials, all while coordinating underground fashion shows. Next, Evey aspires to open stores in Los Angeles, New York’s East Village, Chicago, and Japan.
