Shira Benson
"I create in every moment of my life."
Shira (Norma Jean) Benson is a Kemetic Artist and Fashion Designer from Badin, North Carolina. She is a painter, working mainly with acrylic paint on self-constructed canvas. She also spends time making custom clothing, as she incorporates art into all of her design talents.
She launched Artwork by Norma Jean and Designs by Shira Benson 2013 in an art-fashion extravaganza at the African American Atelier of Greensboro, NC. She then decided to relocate her business to Atlanta, Georgia in 2014, where she published her first artwork book entitled, Red Clay. Shira is currently teaching adult art classes at Seven Arts Center of East Point, Georgia. Artwork by Norma Jean displays the development of Prehistoric, Ancient Egyptian, and Cultural Art. Her portfolio introduces the concept of dream meets reality. Pop Art and Portraiture are Shira’s greatest influences. Shira has published a book entitled, RED CLAY.
