he Battle of the Champions II consisted of past award winning designers competing for over $22,000 in awards. Prizes included cash, jewelry and sewing machines. The event was proudly sponsored by Baby Lock, USA, Dewitts Jewelers, Seagrams, and Stolichnaya.

The designers were challenged to produce two day, casual or sportswear pieces as well as two evening or formal wear garments. Before the actual show, each garment was scrutinized and judged based on construction, design, and creativity/originality. The final category, presentation, was judged during the onstage portion of the competition. This portion of the competition included a wonderful deviation from the usual runway show. The models did skits and clever choreography and wore elaborate hairstyles, make-up and even Mardi-gras type masks. The show carried the knockout theme throughout the program, each designer was announced while an attractive male or female model in lingerie held up cards which displayed the number of the designer before each "round" in the grand tradtion of a boxing match.

The competition was fierce with each designer presenting new and innovative designs. There were skirts that doubled as capes and purses that morphed into hats,and even short dresses that converted to evening gowns. Some of the evening gowns were created with unconventional materials such as galvanized steel and plexiglas! There were fabulous leather ensembles, crocheted and crystaled gowns, as well as an array of unique innovative denim fashions. The onstage performance was very entertaining and easily rivaled an episode of Showtime at the Apollo! MyCloset.com heard that the competition was so close that it came down to presentation to decide which designer had the winning edge.
