Explain your personal style.

LH: UNPLANNED... I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON. WHENEVER I ROLL OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING, IT DEPENDS ON HOW COLD IT IS OUTSIDE IF I JUST KEEP ON THROWING LAYERS AND LAYERS. SOMETIMES IT WORKS, SOMETIMES IT DOESN’T.

You make such beautiful clothes, what would you recommend to women in regards to storing clothes in their closets? How would they store your collection?

LH: PLASTIC BAG IT. PUT IT ON A HANGER AND COVER... IT DEPENDS WHAT IT IS. WITH A BUSTIER, YOU CAN PUT IN ON A HANGER AND BAG IT. AND IT WILL LAST FOREVER. KNITS YOU OBVIOUSLY FOLD AND PUT IT IN A CEDAR DRAWER.

If we visited your bedroom, how do you keep your own clothes?

LH: I GUESS I SHOULDN’T SAY ANYTHING SINCE MY OWN THINGS ARE FALLING APART IN MY OWN CLOSET, BUT I LIKE THAT. I’M NOT HIGHLY ORGANIZED IN MY CLOSET. I THINK IT’S MORE OF A DISORDER THAN A POSITIVE THING. WHEN I DO PUT EVERYTHING IN ITS OWN PLACE IT’S MORE LIKE THERAPY FOR ME. IT’S LIKE “OH YEAH,” THEN I’LL ORGANIZE EVERYTHING.”
