Monica Botkier

s a resident of one of the most, vibrant and electric cities in the universe, Botkier often thought about THE IDEAL handbag: the bag that would be chic, carry all of her necessary objects, and suit her busy downtown lifestyle. Monica envisioned a bag that incorporated, strong construction, sexy details, bold metal hardware, with useful versatile compartments. The first of these inventions was her iconic bag, aptly named “Trigger”. Once she began carrying the bag to photo shoots it was an instant hit. Models immediately began clamoring for the bag, and in 2003 Monica designed and produced her first collection. This collection was a phenomenal success, becoming a fast favorite among celebrities; Botkier’s bags can now be seen on many famous women from Angelina Jolie and Katie Holmes to the cast of Gossip Girl.

With such major success as a handbag designer, it was inevitable that Monica also branched out into designing other accessories. Botkier’s shoe line, with visible fine Italian craftsmanship, has the same quality and spirit as the Botkier bags. Characteristically having bold beautiful and sexy hardware, fabulous colors, and unique but comfortable designs, she launched a brand new line of shoes for 2009. This launch commemorated her fifth anniversary of beginning her highly successful accessories line. To celebrate this momentous occasion, she also re-launched a likeness of her first iconic 'ideal' bag, “Trigger” which is still a celeb favorite!
